2-day workshops
2-day workshops - info
Our 2-day workshops actually begin after lunch on the 1st day and continue to dusk on the 3rd day. Therefore, you actually enjoy 2½days photography with Mark and Ross. You will enjoy 2nights accommodation (sole occupancy) at a local hotel – chosen for both its location and quality – and breakfast, dinner and pack lunch are provided.
Each day we will rise early for a dawn shoot before returning to enjoy a hearty breakfast. Of course, there is no obligation to join the morning shoot if you are not an early riser, but we strongly recommend you do, as often sunrise provides the best light of the day. After breakfast, we head out for the day. We will normally visit 2 or 3 different locations and, weather permitting, shoot until dusk. We then return to the hotel for our evening meal in the restaurant. Dinner is followed by a slideshow or portfolio review (please bring your prints and digital files), along with a few social drinks and a natter…
Group size is strictly restricted to 12 photographers, so book early to avoid disappointment.
Non-participating partners are welcome – please contact us for the cost of accommodation and meals.

West Cornwall - New workshop - FULLY BOOKED!
Sunday 7th to Tuesday 9th of March 2010
The rugged Cornish coastline is among the most beautiful and photogenic in the UK. Participants will be staying at the popular Mount Haven Hotel in Marazion for 2nights. The hotel is well known for the quality of its food and has recently been awarded a second AA Rosette. The Mount Haven overlooks St Michael’s Mount – one of Cornwall’s most stunning and recognizable landmarks. Breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal are provided both days.
There are just too many great locations in West Cornwall to photograph in such a short time, but during the workshop we will photograph the iconic view of St Michael’s Mount from Marazion beach, visit the quaint fishing village of Mousehole and the tin mines at Botallack Head. We will also photograph Cape Cornwall, the stunning sandy bay at Sennon and visit Porth Nanvan – one of the most photogenic locations in Cornwall due its wonderful round granite boulders and unusual rock formations. During March, the light can be stunning and the weather dramatic. The days are still long enough to visit several locations each day, yet short enough to ensure we’re back at the hotel after sunset in time to eat, relax and share a drink or two…
The workshop costs £395.00, with a £100.00 deposit required at the time of booking.

Dorset's Jurassic Coastline & The Isle of Purbeck
Sunday 26th to Tuesday 28th September 2010
Late September is an ideal time for photography in Purbeck. Without wishing to tempt fate, the weather is often pleasant, and the sun sets over the sea for perfect sunset shots. Not only that, but Purbeck's most famous landmarks are at their best at this time of year, with the setting sun lighting up Durdle Door, and Corfe Castle often shrouded in mist.
Few photographers know Dorset as well as Mark, so as well as receiving expert tuition from your two tutors, you can be sure that you will be in the right locations at the best time of day to make the most of them.
We will be staying at the Purbeck House Hotel in Swanage www.purbeckhousehotel.co.uk with the photography starting on Sunday afternoon and continuing until dusk on Tuesday. There will be an evening slideshow and you will have the opportunity to have your portfolio reviewed by Mark and Ross.
The workshop costs £395.00, with a £100.00 deposit required at the time of booking.

South Hams - New workshop - just 4 places remaining!
Wednesday 13th to Friday 15th October 2010
South Devon is one of the most beautiful regions in the South West of England. The South Hams is an area of outstanding natural beauty - home to glorious coastline, photogenic coves and bays, picturesque estuaries, unspoilt countryside and picture postcard villages. Dartmoor National Park is just a short drive away and Dartmouth, Salcombe and Totnes are its major towns. This is wonderful place to explore with your camera and landscape photographers will quickly fall in love with this area…
During this workshop, participants will be staying at the Sun Bay Hotel in beautiful Hope Cove for 2 nights. This family run hotel is situated just 50m from this clean, sandy bay. The dining room, bar, sun terrace and many of the bedrooms overlook Hope Cove – it would be tricky to find a better location to host a workshop in the South Hams! During the workshop, we will be visiting Bigbury Bay to photograph the beach and Burgh Island – home to the exclusive and renowned Art Deco hotel. Other locations that will feature on the itinerary are Bantham – with its beautiful sandy beach and picturesque boathouse – dramatic Soar Mill Cove, Wembury bay, the lighthouse at Start Point, Slapton, Thurlstone Rock and Salcombe.
October often provides outdoor photographers with dramatic light and interesting conditions – colourful sunrises and sunsets and dark, menacing skies. By running the workshop mid-week, locations should be quiet and free of too many people. Also, with a weekend following the workshop, you will have a couple of days to recover before returning to the hustle bustle of work! There will be an evening slideshow and you will have the opportunity to have your portfolio reviewed by Mark and Ross. We hope you can join us…
The workshop costs £395.00, with a £100.00 deposit required at the time of booking.
