Explore Purbeck: Small Group Workshop
£995.00 | 14th - 16th March, 2027 | Fully Booked
Join the Waiting ListPicture Dorset—and especially the Isle of Purbeck—and it’s easy to think of the classics: Durdle Door, Kimmeridge Bay, Corfe Castle. Iconic, unforgettable… and just the beginning. Step a little off the beaten path and you’ll discover a different Purbeck entirely—one of hidden coves, abandoned quarries, and dramatic sea stacks that feel worlds away from the crowds.
This workshop is designed to take you there.
Because many of these locations are inaccessible to larger groups, we’ve limited the workshop to just 6 participants, guided by two experienced tutors. That means space to work, freedom to explore compositions without distraction, and an exceptional 1:3 tutor-to-participant ratio—so you’ll get plenty of personal guidance tailored to your photography.
We won’t ignore the famous landmarks—far from it. When we do visit places like Durdle Door, we’ll reveal fresh perspectives and lesser-known viewpoints to help you create images that stand apart. Across three immersive days, you’ll shoot 3 sunsets and 2 dawns, making the most of Purbeck’s ever-changing light.
Early spring is a magical time here. The sun rises and sets at ideal angles along the Jurassic Coast, and the season often brings atmospheric mist and low fog—perfect for capturing the haunting beauty of Corfe Castle.
We’ll be based at Kingston Country Courtyard, a charming and characterful venue just moments from one of the finest viewpoints of Corfe Castle. With such a small group, evenings are relaxed and informal—reviewing images together over a drink rather than sitting in a classroom. The workshop includes 2 nights’ dinner, B&B accommodation (single occupancy), and packed lunches for all 3 days.
Your tutors, Ross Hoddinott and Mark Bauer, bring a wealth of local knowledge and experience. Mark, a Purbeck resident and author of the Fotovue guidebook Photographing Dorset, and Ross, who has explored the area extensively for years, know exactly where—and when—to be for the best possible shots.
Join us, and discover a side of Purbeck few photographers ever truly see.
