Rugged North Cornwall
£395.00 | 04th - 05th April, 2019
Home to crashing Atlantic waves, golden sandy bays and steep, dramatic cliffs, the rugged north Cornish coastline is among the most picturesque in Europe and during this two-day workshop we will visit some of its most photogenic gems.
During the workshop, you will be under the expert guidance of two of the UK's best known landscape photographers – Mark Bauer and Ross Hoddinott. Ross has been photographing Cornwall for over 25-years, so you are in safe hands. During the workshop, we will photograph the extensive golden sands of Sandymouth Bay, the rocky ledges of Crackington Haven and also the stunning elevated view of Boscastle – one of Cornwall’s best-known and picturesque harbours. The north Cornish coast is impressive, wild and imposing. No visit to the area would be complete without visiting Trevose Head to photograph the lighthouse perched dramatically on the cliff edge – this is a great location to practice long exposure photography. Bedruthan Steps, St Nectan’s Glen and Bude Sea Pool are also on the agenda during this workshop.
This is a great workshop to hone your filtration skills and we will work extensively on using landscape photography filters during the workshop – polarisers, graduated Neutral Density filters and Little, Big and Super Stoppers. You will have access to LEE Filter systems and filters throughout the course – so if you have not used filters previously, this really is a great opportunity to try them for yourself under our expert guidance.
The chic Habasca Hotel will be our base during this workshop. This is a luxurious, vibrant and comfortable hotel, with a grill restaurant. Accommodation (sole occupancy) and dinner (Monday), breakfast (Tuesday) and pack (or pub) lunch (Monday and Tuesday) is provided in the cost of the workshop. The hotel is just a short walk from Crooklets beach in Bude and is the perfect place to bring a non-participating partner for some welcome R&R!
For this workshop, we are limiting the group size to just eight participants to ensure viewpoints don’t feel crowded. With a small maximum group size, a large amount of individual, bespoke tuition is guaranteed and you will benefit from the differing perspective of two professionals. Mark and Ross will not only guide you to the key viewpoints, but encourage you to explore each location in order for you to find less obvious compositions and find your own unique perspective.
If time allows, there will also be the opportunity to have a selection of your images reviewed by Mark and Ross. We hope you can join us...
