The Isle of Skye

£1375.00 | 08th - 11th November, 2026 | Fully Booked

Join the Waiting List

With a truly dramatic landscape of rugged mountains, tumbling streams, and a remarkable coast, the Isle of Skye easily merits its position as one of the most desirable photographic destinations in Europe. It is no wonder photographers travel from all over the world to shoot Skye’s spectacular landscape, in the hope of capturing the magical light Scotland is renowned for…

During this 4-day workshop we will be staying at the elegant and refurbished Skeabost Country House Hotel, known for its warm hospitality and fine dining. Located close to Portree, the hotel is ideally situated for dawn excursions to two of Skye’s jewels; the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing. We will dedicate plenty of time to exploring both of these amazing landscapes in the detail they deserve.

Other locations we will visit include the soaring cliffs of Skye’s west coast at Neist Point and the shores of Elgol looking across to the Cuillins – regarded as one of Europe’s finest coastal views. We also plan to visit the magical and renowned Fairy Pools. While the days are short in early November, the light is magical throughout the day, making this the perfect time to visit this iconic Isle. Please be aware that we have classified this workshop as hard. The walk to the Old Man of Storr is approximately an hour's walk, most of which is uphill.  While we will allow ample time to reach our viewpoint without rushing, a good level of fitness is required.

On this workshop your tutors will be Mark Bauer and Ross Hoddinott. Mark and Ross will ensure that you are guided to the best locations at the right time, and will always be at hand to offer tuition to help you capture Skye’s stunning landscapes at their very best. Three course evening meal (Sunday, Monday & Tuesday) and breakfast and packed lunch (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday) are also provided in the cost. For this workshop, we are limiting the group size to just eight participants to ensure viewpoints don’t feel crowded. With a small maximum group size, a large amount of individual, bespoke tuition is guaranteed and you will benefit from the differing perspective of two professionals. For comfort and convenience, transport is via car sharing.

During the workshop, there will also be a picture review and, if time allows, post processing tutorials. We hope you can join us on our Skye adventure...
