Located in south-west Wales – and the UK’s only designated coastal National Park – Pembrokeshire is one of the most diverse and unspoilt counties in Wales. With dramatic coastal cliffs, impressive rock stacks and pristine sandy bays, it is no surprise that National Geographic voted Pembrokeshire as one of the World’s very best coastal destinations. The county is split into two halves. The rugged and wild north coast is home to wooded valleys and quaint fishing villages, while the southern half is full of golden beaches and the sea is calmer and more tranquil in appearance.

During this workshop you will be guided by top, local professional Drew Buckley – an award-winning landscape and wildlife photographer and author of Photographing South Wales by fotoVue. Drew has an intimate knowledge of the area and we will be visiting some of his favourite coastal locations during this 3-day residential workshop. Highlights include Strumble Head Lighthouse, Marloes Sands, Porthgain, Freshwater West, and the impressive Green Bridge of Wales – a stunning natural rock arch. In September, there may still be some coastal heather in bloom and the light and conditions are often spectacular during early autumn. We always run this workshop over a weekend to enable access to the MOD land where the Green Bridge and Elegug Stacks are located.

For this workshop, we will be staying at the stunning 4-Star Wolfscastle Country Hotel – located near Haverfordwest in the heart of the Pembrokeshire countryside, and just 9 miles from the coast. This luxury hotel is perfectly located to explore the local area. Dinner (Friday & Saturday) and hearty Welsh breakfast and packed lunch (Saturday & Sunday) are included in the cost of the workshop.

Group size is strictly restricted to 8 people for this workshop and Ross Hoddinott will be joining Drew as co-tutor for our Pembrokeshire adventure. You are assured of plenty of attention and bespoke learning and feedback while in the field. For comfort and convenience, transport is via car sharing. We hope you can join us...
