Dorset is a popular destination for photographers and with good reason: it contains many of the UK’s most iconic photographic locations, including Durdle Door, Kimmeridge Bay, Old Harry Rocks and the cliffs at West Bay (a.k.a ‘Broadchurch’).

However, the county has so much more to offer once you get away from the Jurassic Coast: rolling hills, ruined churches, picturesque water-mills, tree-lined avenues, beautiful rivers and atmospheric woodland. If you fancy getting off the beaten track and away from the crowds at the best-known hotspots, then this is the workshop for you. Mark and Ross are your guides and tutors for this workshop and they will take you to some of the area’s lesser-known but no less beautiful locations. And with a group size of just 8, so you are guaranteed plenty of individual attention when out on location.

We’ve planned this workshop for the early spring, when the leaves on the trees are fresh and vibrant and there is also the chance of mist in the valleys to add atmosphere to our dawn shoots. With a little luck, there will also be bluebells and wild garlic flowering in some of the woodland areas on the itinerary.

During this 3-day workshop, we will based at the popular Crown Hotel in Blandford Forum. This beautiful Georgian coaching Inn gives us good access to all our main locations. The day length is long at this time of year, so we will provide some down time during the day, and also eat our evening meals in pubs close to the sunset locations, rather than heading back to the hotel and out again.

This is a fantastic opportunity to photograph some very different views of a beautiful county. We hope you can join us….
