Iceland - Northern Lights Special
£2995.00 | 23rd - 29th November, 2020 | Fully BookedJoin the Waiting List
Iceland has one of the most incredible and unique landscapes in the world and we are delighted to be returning to this amazing country in November 2020. With rugged mountains, lava fields, black sand beaches and glaciers, Iceland has more than its fair share of the world’s most iconic locations - plus, of course, the possibility of seeing and photographing the northern lights - a natural phenomenon at the top of most people’s bucket list.
On this tour, we will be exploring the south coast. Shortly after arrival in Reykjavik, we will take a short internal flight to Höfn, where we will be based for 2 nights, with the opportunity to shoot the breathtaking views at Vestrahorn and Eystrahorn, as well as visiting some of the hidden gems in the eastern fjords.
We will then be based for two nights near the highly photogenic Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and the unique black sand ‘ice beach’. As well as these iconic locations, we will also visit some lesser-known but equally impressive lagoons and the glacier at Svínafellsjökull.
For our final two nights we will be based at Vik. With its dramatic rocks stacks, basalt cliffs and black sand beach, Vik needs little introduction. As well as shooting this imposing coastline, we will also have time to visit the nearby waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss.
At this time of year, days are short, but this means long nights and an increased chance of being able to photograph the aurora. Weather permitting, we will be out every night chasing the lights….
Your tutors for this trip will be Ross and Mark, both of whom have visited Iceland before (Mark has led over 20 tours here) and are familiar with all of the locations. We will also have a local guide, who will drive us in an all-terrain super-jeep, allowing us access to places other groups may not be able to reach. With a maximum group size of 10 participants and two tutors, you are guaranteed plenty of individual tuition.
Included in the cost are 6 nights half-board accommodation in excellent hotels, transfers to and from Keflavik International airport and all transport during the workshop.
In the first instance, this workshop will be offered exclusively to members of Watford Camera Club, before being put on general sale. We hope you fancy joining us for this unique photographic experience…
*Please note that flights are not included in the cost of this workshop, but after booking, we will contact you with a details of recommended flights. Assuming you are on one of these recommended flights, your tutors will meet you at the airport.
