We can barely contain our excitement! The Faroes Islands is on most landscape photographers' bucket lists and we can’t wait to lead our first workshop, exploring this photogenic and dramatic archipelago.

Comprising 18 mountainous islands, the Faroes is regarded by many as one of Europe’s best kept secrets. Located between Scotland and Iceland, the Islands have everything a landscape photographer could possibly wish for – extraordinary coastal scenery, grand mountains, dramatically steep cliffs, cascading waterfalls and genuine wilderness. During this 5-day photography workshop, we will be staying at the friendly 4-Star Hotel Føroyarin in Tórshavn, a great place to be based during our photogenic tour and regarded as one of the best hotels in the Faroes. Late Spring is recognised as one of the best times of year to visit the Faroes, when the weather is typically most stable.

During the workshop, we will visit some of the Faroes' most photogenic viewpoints, including the Islands Vágar, where we will hike along lake Leitisvatn, also known as ‘the lake above the sea’. We will also shoot Bøsdalafossur waterfall and the ‘sharks tooth’. We will visit the Island Eysturoy, with its winding roads at Funningur - and photograph Gjôgv, with its stunning gorge and a beautiful harsh shore line. Tjørnuvik is another key location. It is home to a stunning long beach – a great spot for long-exposure photography – and also Fossá waterfall. Be prepared for awe-inspiring scenery wherever we go…

Our guide throughout the workshop will be Danish Professional Hans Christian Strikert. An ambassador for Manfrotto, Hans Christian is a highly experienced instructor and has an intimate knowledge of the Faroes. We will not only visit the most iconic spots, but Hans Christian will also guide us to a handful of hidden gems. Leading this workshop along with Hans Christian will be both Mark Bauer and Ross Hoddinott – familiar faces to regular D2D clients. With three highly experienced tutors leading this workshop, clients are guaranteed a high level of 1-2-1 tuition and bespoke guidance.

The cost of the workshop includes accommodation, transportation during the workshop taxes, tolls and meals. Your only additional cost is your airfare and beverages.

This promises to be one of our most exciting photo adventures. Be prepared for long, tiring, but enjoyable days, lots of photography, plenty of walking, fun and exploration. We hope you can join us…
