The Glamorgan Coast

The Glamorgan Heritage Coast features some of the best beaches to be found anywhere in the UK – it is a fascinating and compelling coastline to photograph. Distinctive golden layered cliffs stretch along the coast for many miles, providing a colourful backdrop to the seashore. And what a seashore it is too! Depending on the tide levels, the beach is bursting with all kinds of incredible photographic interest. Water eroded smooth ledges are juxtaposed magnificently with thousands of rounded pebbles high up on the beach. Lower down, many tidal pools offer beautiful light reflecting subjects in otherwise clean sandy beaches. In other areas, fascinating patterns have been eroded into limestone ledges making intricate channels for water rushing back from retreating waves, perfect for long exposures.
During this workshop we will be staying on the coast in the characterful West House Hotel in Llantwit Major, handily located for the major locations on the workshop. Included in the cost of the workshop is a packed lunch and evening meal on the Thursday, and hearty Welsh breakfast and packed lunch on the Friday.
On this workshop your tutors will be Mark Bauer and Adam Burton. Mark and Adam will ensure that you are guided to the best locations at the right time, and will always be on hand to offer tuition to help you get the best out of your visit to the Glamorgan coast. The workshop will also include an evening tutorial and – if time allows – the opportunity to have your pictures expertly critiqued by Mark and Adam.
Group size is strictly restricted to 10 people, so a large amount of individual attention is guaranteed.
