The Glamorgan Heritage Coast

The Glamorgan Heritage Coast features some of the best beaches to be found anywhere in the UK – it is a fascinating and compelling coastline to photograph. Distinctive golden layered cliffs stretch along the coast for many miles, providing a colourful backdrop to the seashore. And what a shore it is too! Depending on the tide levels, the beaches are bursting with all kinds of incredible photographic interest. Water eroded smooth ledges are juxtaposed magnificently with thousands of rounded pebbles. At low tide, tidal pools reflect the light beautifully in clean sandy beaches. In some areas, fascinating patterns have been eroded into limestone ledges making intricate channels for water rushing back from retreating waves, perfect for long exposures.
To make the most of the shooting time on this one-day workshop, we will not start the day with a classroom briefing, but instead will send a comprehensive set of briefing notes (including a location guide) for you to study before the workshop. There will be an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the notes over a cuppa at the start of the day.
On this workshop your tutors will be Drew Buckley and Mark Bauer. As the author of the best-selling Fotovue guide to South Wales, Drew has an in-depth knowledge of this area and he and Mark will ensure that you are guided to the best locations at the right time, and will always be on hand to offer tuition to help you get the best out of your visit to the Glamorgan coast. Group size is strictly restricted to 8 people, so a large amount of individual attention is guaranteed.
