Cornwall - or Kernow in Cornish - is home to some of the most spectacular and photogenic coastline found anywhere in Europe. Golden sandy bays, crashing waves, rocky coves, picturesqure fishing villages, imposing sea cliffs, and towering sea stacks provifde endless picture potential. It is no wonder that Cornwall is such a popular place to visit and photograph.

Located in the far west of England on a distinctive peninsula tumbling into thr Atlantic ocean, Cornwall boasts over 300-miles of rugged coastline. It is best known for its world-renowned beaches, clean surf, and for being one of the UK's leading holiday destinations. However, it is also steeped in history, has its very own language, and is home to mainland Britain's most southernly and westerly points.

During this exclusive six-day (five night) small group workshop, we will tour the Cornish coastline, starting in the north of the county and finishing at its most southernly tip, The Lizard. We will have three different bases during the week to minimise driving and maximise our reach. We will have plenty of time and opportunity to explore some of Cornwall's most iconic viewpoints, together with less well known locations and hidden gems. With a group size of just six participants (with two tutors), not only will there be plenty of opportunity for individual attention, but we will also be able to visit locations which are not practical for larger groups to access. There will be no need for car-sharing, as you will be able to travel to all the locations in your tutors' cars (although you will need to travel in your own car from one base to the next). We have selected three top quality hotels for this tour, that are not only ideally located, but will ensure we are well fed and watered during D2D's first ever tour of the county. While this will be a busy and productive week's photography, there will be time to relax too and sample some of the local produce - a delicous cream tea, Cornish pasty, and a pint or two of local ale maybe?

October is often the perfect time to shoot the Cornish Coast. The busy tourist season is over and the shorter hours of daylight make days less tiring and more sociable. Autumn often provides dramatic seas and gorgous skies - what more could you wish for?

With such a small, intimate group, we won’t hold any formal tutorials, but instead will spend time in the evenings, reviewing the day’s shots on our laptops and giving hints and tips on how to get the best out of your Raw files. You'll also have the opportunity to discuss aspects of planning shoots and scouting locations with your tutors.

Your tutors for this workshop are Mark Bauer and Cornish resident Ross Hoddinott. Between them they have excellent local knowledge and will make sure you are always in the right place at the right time.

Ni a wayt y fynn'ta mos orthyn - just in case you didn't know, that is Cornish for 'we hope you can join us!
